Billy Morrison, with the band for Billy Idol, are among artists to play at MusiCares Benefit

Billy Idol and his band, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, former Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan, and alt rocker Mark Lanegan are among more artists slated to participate in the upcoming Eighth Annual MAP Fun Benefit Concert.

Alice In Chains co-founder Jerry Cantrell and certified interventionist and Sony/ATV Music Publishing Senior Consultant Neil Lasher will be honored at the event for their involvement in addiction and sobriety issues.

Cantrell will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund, and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction and recovery process.

Lasher will receive the MusiCares 'From The Heart' Award for his unconditional friendship and dedication to the mission and goals of the organization.

All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.

This year, the annual event will be hosted by television personality Steve-O.

Artists that will perform at the event will include eight-time Grammy nominee Alice In Chains, featuring guitarist/vocalist Cantrell, guitarist/vocalist William DuVall, bassist Mike Inez, and drummer Sean Kinney.

Also slated are Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Billy Idol with his band, featuring drummer Jeremy Colson, bassist Stephen McGrath, guitarist Billy Morrison, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, and longtime lead guitarist Steve Stevens.

Additional artists on hand playing at the event will be bassist Duff McKagan, who has played with bands including Loaded, Guns N' Roses, and Velvet Revolver. Singer/songwriter, vocalist, and musician Mark Lanegan, known for his work with the Queens Of The Stone Age and the Screaming Trees will participate, as well.

Artist Moby will DJ during dinner.

Cantrell formed Alice In Chains in 1987 in Seattle, alongside bandmates Kinney, the late Layne Staley, and the late Mike Starr.

The band's lead singer Lane Staley died from an overdose of cocaine and heroin in 2002. Mike Starr, who had left the band, died on March 8, 2011, reportedly of an overdose. Starr had appeared on Season 3 of Dr. Drew's reality show Celebrity Rehab.

Starr stated on the show that he had been ousted from the band in 1993, due to his drug use.

Staley's mother, Nancy McCallum appeared on the show to talk to Starr, who expressed guilt over not preventing Staley's overdose.

Since her son's death, Ms. McCallum has been active in raising funds for drug treatment.

An introduction to Tara Buck & her character, Crystal, in K-11

Crystal: I'm a junkie with a rap sheet a mile long, mostly minor offenses but in Cali we have this fu*@# up three strikes law.  Drugs mostly, but some BS prostitution charges too.  I was born a boy but I'm hella foxy and I aint about to let this hot ass go to waste.  That's probably where the trouble started.  Honestly I'd rather be in K-11 than on the outside, so for me it's home.  Mousey's my girl but when she aint looking you can be sure that I'm gonna get mine.

Tara: I grew up in Idaho mostly, one of two children raised by a single Mom.  I spent most of my childhood entertaining myself.  We didn't have a television so I created my own stories and spent days lost in my imagination.  I rode horses, played in mountain creeks and constantly had skinned knees and a sunburned nose.  I moved to Los Angeles immediately after graduating from high school to pursue acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Shortly after graduating I landed my first recurring television role on the hit series Party of Five. I've been in Los Angeles chasing the dream ever sense.I gravitate to roles where I get to bring a voice to the underdogs in life, whose stories are less often told.  I enjoy the transformative leap into a character and the freedom that gives me to indulge my imagination.  Working on K-11 was a delightfully twisted diversion from my day to day life and I hope that audiences will enjoy a similar escape when they go to see it.

Tara is best known for her recurring role as the epic screaming barmaid “Ginger” in HBO’s True Blood.  Tara has also guest starred in numerous other television shows including Nip/Tuck, Bones, Southland, Justified, Cold Case, The Closer, The Shield, The X-Files, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Without a Trace, Navy NCIS and most recently NBC's Prime Suspect.  Tara also just wrapped production on the indie film Boot Tracks starring alongside Stephen Dorff, Michelle Monaghan and Willem Dafoe.

Article on Intandem Films mentions K-11

A fundamental element of Intandem's strategy is to take greater control over the films it represents, and IFD will allow Intandem to exploit huge opportunities in the film distribution business. Intandem has already secured distribution rights for K-11, an American film that has been described as the next One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which is in 'post-production', and Catweazle, a film version of the popular 1970's book and television series.
